Denver Sparks-Guest and Harry Fayle are named CCAA All-Canadians
The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association is proud to announce the 2019 CCAA Men’s Basketball All-Canadians from the PACWEST.
The student-athletes, who are selected by their conference based on performance and contribution to the sport and their team, were honoured at a banquet during the 2019 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship, hosted by Langara College on Wednesday night.
Here are the 2019 CCAA/PACWEST Men’s Basketball All-Canadians:
Harry Fayle
VIU Mariners
The PACWEST Player of the Year led the Mariners to a 16-2 record and first-place finish in the conference. Fayle, a second-year guard, was among the PACWEST leaders with 19.6 points per game and 4.7 assists per game. He demonstrates tremendous competitiveness, effort and poise and is one of the best defensive players in the PACWEST. Fayle is a team-first player who is professional in his approach. He is a compassionate leader who has the trust and respect of all his teammates and coaches.
Denver Sparks-Guest
Capilano Blues
Sparks-Guest led the PACWEST in scoring and averaged 25.8 points per game. The fifth-year forward also ranked among the PACWEST leaders with 9.1 rebounds per game and 1.8 steals per game. Sparks-Guest elevated his game in all facets this season and led the Blues to an 11-7 record and third-place finish in the conference. Off the court, he is a Peer Mentor for his teammates and last summer, Sparks-Guest was a lead instructor at a basketball camp for First Nations Youth in the Similkameen Valley.
