The PACWEST is proud to announce the Golf Athletes of the Week following the PACWEST golf championship tournament this past weekend.
Female Athlete of the Week
Alex Foston – VIU Mariners
For the second straight season Alex Foston of the VIU Mariners is the PACWEST golf champion. She captured the title by an incredible 10 strokes after shooting rounds of 88, 79 and 84. During her second round and her 79 she pulled away from the rest of the field winning that day by seven strokes.
Male Athlete of the Week
Mitch Turko – VIU Mariners
He captured his first PACWEST title after shooting a pair of 73s and an 81 on Saturday. After sharing the lead on Friday and a score of 73 he struggled on Saturday finishing with an 81 and found himself four strokes back of first. Then on Sunday he was simply outstanding shooting another 73 clinching the title with a one stroke victory.
