The Mariners were able to hold off a late surge by the Blues to win their sixth straight to open the season. They shot 34% from the field and again Chloe Scaber came off the bench, played 20 minutes and led her club with 16 points. Courtney Buckley dropped in 14 points and Kiara Johnston added 13 rebounds.
For the second consecutive night Kirsten Abo led the Blues with 16 points as her club shot 33% from the field. With the loss the Blues fall to 3-2 on the season.

CBC Bearcats 63
The Chargers won their fourth straight ball game on Saturday with three of their starters hitting double-digits. Chelsea Espenberg drained a team high 19 points, Tegan Michel scored 16 and Tamiya Ness added 15. As a team they shot 35% from the field.
The Bearcats made it interesting and stayed with the Chargers the entire game. They shot 35% and Ryann Lee was lights out with a game high 31 points to lead the way. Samantha Leyenhorst had a monster game with 14 points and 15 boards. The starters worked most of the game with only two subs on the bench.

The Chargers won their fourth straight on Saturday with a lopsided win over the Bearcats of CBC. Their offence shot 41% from the field but it was their second half defence that was outstanding. They held the Bearcats to just 15 points after halftime and 28% shooting for the game.
Noah Helman led the Chargers with a game high 20 points and Takeshi Croke tallied 16 while Jake Wilmott grabbed 13 boards.
