PACWEST Basketball Schedule
The season is set to tip-off on November 5th with a full slate of games
Following an unprecedented year the PACWEST is very pleased to announce the 2021-2022 basketball schedules for both women and men.
Games are still subject to change depending on the Provincial Health Authority; however the PACWEST is planning for an 18-game modified schedule. One match-up will feature the season tip-off when the Langara Falcons welcome the Capilano Blues on Friday October 29th. The other schools are set to open the season on November 5th when the Camosun Chargers host the VIU Mariners, the CBC Bearcats invade Capilano and the Douglas Royals visit the Falcons. Only the Okanagan Coyotes are idle and will open their schedule the following weekend.
For the first time in recent memory the basketball and volleyball PACWEST seasons will open on the same weekend.
The defending PACWEST women’s champions the VIU Mariners will be on the road to open the season visiting their Island rivals the Camosun Chargers. Meanwhile the defending men’s champion Douglas Royals will also be on the road at Langara to battle with the Falcons.
The 18-game schedule concludes on Saturday February 19th. The PACWEST has inserted a bye week prior to the championships in case any games during the regular season need to be rescheduled.
The PACWEST playoffs will open March 3rd and conclude with the gold medal games on the 5th. From there the top men’s team will head to Ontario and Humber College for the CCAA Nationals while the women will stay in the PACWEST and host the nationals at VIU which means the Mariners already have an automatic berth into the tournament.
