Women's Gold Medal Match

The women’s gold medal match features the island rivalry when the Mariners and Chargers lock up on Saturday afternoon.

The Mariners breezed through their semi-final victory over the CBC Bearcats in three straight sets on Friday in front of a ruckus crowd at VIU. Meanwhile the Chargers used outstanding service and a balanced offensive attack and upset the second seeded Capilano Blues on Friday afternoon in their semi-final, winning in three straight.

These two teams last met in this women’s gold medal match in 2023 with the Chargers earning their first ever Conference title.

During the regular season the Chargers were the only team to beat the Mariners, a four-set victory in late October in their very first meeting.  The Mariners have won the last three matchups, but they have been very entertaining winning in a five-set thriller in January and the other two courtesy of four sets.

Not only PACWEST gold on the line, but a berth in the 2025 CCAA national championship tournament held in Durham, Ontario.
