Women's Bronze Medal Match

It’s Day 2 of the PACWEST volleyball championship tournament and the Blues and Bearcats open up play in the women’s bronze medal match.

The Blues were upset on Friday afternoon by the third seeded Camosun Chargers in three straight sets and are looking to bounce back this afternoon. The Bearcats were also swept on Friday by the top seeded VIU Mariners.

During the regular season these two teams met four times and split their seasonal series 2-2.  At CBC in November the Bearcats won the first meeting in five exciting sets, followed by a Blues four-set victory the next day.  Then three weeks ago at Capilano, the Bearcats again won the opening match of the weekend in five sets before the Blues came back and won in three straight to even the series.

The last time these two schools met in the playoffs was the bronze medal match in 2012 with the Blues earning a three-set sweep.
