The Douglas Royals meet the Camosun Chargers in a men's semi-final

The first of two men’s semi-finals on Friday will see the Chargers and Royals meet with the winner advancing to the gold medal match on Saturday.
The Royals earned a bye into the semi-final finishing second in the standings, four points up on the Chargers who finished third. During the regular season the Royals won all three matches including two that went to five-sets. They last faced each other on February 6th when the Royals won in four-sets.
For the Chargers, their last regular season match was that loss at Douglas and needed to shake off some rust on Thursday as they opened the PACWEST championship tournament. The faced a gritty CBC Bearcat team in the quarterfinal and though they won in three-sets it was not easy.
These two teams met in the 2020 championship tournament which saw the fourth seeded Chargers upset the top ranked Royals in five sets in a semi-final.
