#3 Camosun Chargers @ #1 VIU Mariners – Saturday February 26, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE
A pair of PACWEST powerhouses from the Island will play for gold on Saturday night and a berth at the CCAA national championship when the Mariners meet the Chargers in what should be an instant classic.
They last met in this gold medal match in 2019 with the Mariners capturing the championship banner and headed off the nationals. That year the Mariners won in four sets and Vitor Pereira was the Chargers Player of the Match.
During the regular season these two teams met three times with each match going the distance of five sets. Their last match was January 14th that the Mariners won to take the seasonal series 2-1.
To get to this gold medal match the top seeded Mariners outlasted the COTR Avalanche in five sets last night while the Chargers swept the second seeded Douglas Royals.
The winner tonight will represent the PACWEST at the national championship at the end of March in Quebec City.
