It's a PACWEST women's semi-final with a berth in the gold medal game on the line

The women’s PACWEST semi-final is set as the #2 Royals meet the #3 Blues on Saturday afternoon with the winner advancing to the gold medal game on Sunday.
They met four times during the regular season and the Royals were unbeaten, winning three of the games before playing to a 1-1 draw in their last match-up. They would outscore the Blues 7-2 in the seasonal series with keeper Vanessa Chung recording a pair of shutouts. Offensively the Royals used six different goal scorers and Anna Klaver-Valdez scored twice in their first meeting.
Despite being outscored in the seasonal series, both teams can score goals. The Royals tallied 18 this year and the Blues 17. Royals’ forward Isabelle Dobbin led all PACWESET scorers with six and did have one against the Blues. Sophie Pather led the Blues with four goals on the season and did score once against the Royals.
The main difference was on the backline and in goal. The Royals allowed a Conference low nine goals whereas the Blues have coughed up 17, second most during the regular season. Chung was a difference maker recording a PACWEST high four shutouts and had a goals against average of 0.75. She played all 12 games for the Royals.
The winner advances to the gold medal game on Sunday and will take on the VIU Mariners.
