The Golf Leaderboard - Day 1

Day 1 at the PACWEST golf championship tournament saw tight rounds from all individuals on the men’s leaderboard. As a matter of fact just six strokes separate first place and 11th place.

Into the clubhouse after day 1 the leaderboard shows a tie at the top. Both John Jamieson of the Langara Falcons and Mitch Turko of the VIU Mariners shared a 73 on Friday. Just one stroke back is a trio of Camosun Chargers; Alex Cordero, Simon Hassel and Tyler Robertson each shot a 74. The top Douglas Royal was Josh Legge who finished with a 77 on his home course.

In the team category the Chargers’ five finished with a combined 300, while the Mariners tallied a 311. The Falcons sit in third after a 315 while the host Royals tallied a 328.

Over on the women’s side there is also a tie atop of the leaderboard. Teammates Alex Fosten and Mariah Netzer of the VIU Mariners each shot an 88. Victoria Ross also of the Mariners finished with a 91 and Natalee Okamura of the Falcons was fourth at 110.
