University Golf Club Hosts PACWEST
Head Pro Steve Liddicoat describes the University Golf Club ahead of the PACWEST championship
September 26, 2019
The University Golf Club will play host to the PACWEST golf championship for the first time when athletes tee-off this weekend.
The Club has been around since 1929 and is a traditional golf course with long, narrow fairways and towering old growth trees. Originally called the Westward Ho! Golf Course, it changed its name to University Golf Club in 1985 when a group of Vancouver businessmen headed by Robin Lecky and late Shaughnessy Professional Jack McLaughlin were awarded a 25 year lease on the land. The lease has since been controlled by David Ho.
Ryan Watters talks with head pro and former Camosun Charger Steve Liddicoat about the course and what the PACWEST golfers can expect.
