The Capilano Blues led from start to finish and win their quarterfinal
The Capilano Blues led from start to finish and defeated the CBC Bearcats in their quarterfinal 76-64 to advance to the semifinals on Friday.
The Blues jumped out to a healthy lead in the first quarter and outscored the Bearcats 23-12 and never really looked back. They shot 44% from the field and over 41% from the three-point line on their way to victory. Kash Lang was named Player of the Game and finished with a game high 19 points and was 10-of-11 from the free-throw line including six in the fourth quarter. Russell Curly came off the bench and finished with 11 points and Tristan Keah-Tigh was a sparkplug hitting three-three pointers and finished with 11 points as well.
The Bearcats seasons comes to a close without gaining the lead in the playoffs. They shot 40% from the field led by Damein Coleman Jr. and his 17 points while Cam Carter was terrific off the bench with 14 points all in the second half and was named the Player of the Game.
On Friday the Blues will now face the VIU Mariners in the semifinal at 8:00pm.
