A Bronzed Rematch
The Camsoun Chargers face the Langara Falcons in the PACWEST bronze medal game
#4 Langara Falcons @ #3 Camosun Chargers – Saturday March 4, 3:00pm | WATCH HERE
It’s perhaps the most difficult game to prepare for after the Chargers and Falcons put it all on the line in yesterday’s semi-final and lost. This bronze medal game will feature a rematch of last season in which the Falcons won 113-107 in double overtime.
For the second straight season the second seeded Chargers were upset by the third seeded Blues falling 80-70 yesterday in a very physical affair. The second quarter was their downfall getting outscored 21-13 going into halftime. They shot 38% but there were no easy baskets and they had to spend a lot of time looking for the right shot. All five starters hit double-digits led by the 16 points from Cole Belton.
The Falcons fell to the VIU Mariners last night 99-83 after a ridiculous game from Royce Sargeant who scored 53 points in the setback against the top team in the country. He’ll need some help in today’s bronze medal game after the quick turnaround from last night.
In the seasonal series these two programs met three times including a double-header last weekend which the teams split. The Chargers won last Friday 80-68 with the Falcons earning the dub the next night 74-69.
This game has all the making of a high scoring after with speed back and forth. It will no doubt be fun to watch.
