The Douglas Royals are PACWEST champions for the second time in three seasons

For the second time in three years the Royals are crowned PACWEST champions after an exciting 97-89 win over the Mariners after shooting 52% from the field.
The Royals were strong defensively creating chances for their offence led by tournament MVP Courtney Anderson and his 26 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Cameron Morris was outstanding as well dropping in 19 points and tallying four blocks. His brother Reese had a double-double of 15 points and 10 boards. In all, nine players hit the scoresheet.
Despite the outcome both teams are still heading to the CCAA national championship in two weeks hosted at Humber College in Toronto.
Saturday night the Mariners pushed the top seeded Royals shooting 42% from the field led by Tyus Barfoot and his game high 28 points scoring inside, but also knocking down four-three pointers and grabbing 12 rebounds. Cameron Gay was strong with 22 points and Landon Radliff finished with 18.
The Mariners will head to Humber with a wildcard seed and get an opportunity to defend their national crown.
