The Camosun Chargers win back to back PACWEST bronze medals with a 14 point win over the Okanagan Coyotes. The Chargers leading from start to finish for their second straight medal.
The Chargers exploded out of the gate with 25 points in the first quarter as they were led by their best players. Shaquille Maharaj dominated with a game high 31 points behind eight-three pointers and eight rebounds. Atlas St. Paul-Butler was also major factor with 22 points and seven boards. As a team the Chargers shot 40.6% from the field and 44% from downtown.
It took a bit of time for the Coyotes to find their scoring legs just 11 points in the first quarter. They started to heat up in the fourth quarter but simply ran out of time shooting 44% from the field and 27% from the three-point arch. Seth Blundell was outstanding with 25 points and 10 rebounds and Matt Lafontaine ended with 15 points.
The Chargers win the bronze for the second straight year while the Coyotes season comes to a close as they leave the PACWEST basketball championship empty handed.
