The defending national champs made quick work of the Blues on Saturday winning 25-19, 25-20 and 25-20.
Eight players collected at least one kill led by Karoline Tormena who had 10. Setter Chantel Cumming ran a flawless offence with 27 assists evenly distributing the ball.
The Blues offence sputtered against the Mariners. Meghan Koven had a team high nine kills and Kelsey Towers recorded 25 assists.
Friday night the Mariners (8-0) will welcome the Douglas Royals (5-1) in a rematch of last year’s PACWEST gold medal match. The Blues (3-3) will visit the Camosun Chargers (3-3).

UFV Cascades 2
It took five sets and a couple of extra points for the Royals to finish of the Cascades on Saturday afternoon.
The Royals offence was led by a pair of setters as Abby Mitro had a kill and 20 assists and Jane Kepler tallied three kills and 17 assists as nine different players recorded at least one kill. Grace Warkentin had a team high 10 kills.
The Cascades were led by a pair of players was Amanda Matsui recorded 17 kills and Kim Bauder had 13. Setter Kara Williams was simply outstanding with 42 assists.
On Friday night the Royals (5-1) will visit the VIU Mariners (8-0). The Cascades (4-4) have the weekend off.
