Royals Will Play For Gold
The Douglas Royals will play for CCAA gold for the first time since 1995
The Douglas Royals will play for CCAA national gold for the first time since 1995 after a four set victory over the OCAA Humber Hawks on Friday night; 24-26, 25-16, 2-23 and 25-23.
The PACWEST Player of the Year Vania Oliveria was simply outstanding with a match high 20 kills and 21 digs along with three blocks. Rookie of the Year Caet McCorkell had her best match of the tournament as well with 11 kills and 19 digs while Vicky Schley added 10 kills and 14 digs.
On the defensive side Claudia Corneil found herself in the right position in the back court with 17 digs.
The Royals will face the VIU Mariners in the gold medal match in a replay of the PACWEST title match in which the Royals won in three straight.
The first serve will fly at 7:00pm on Saturday.
