Avs Finish Strong at Home but Fall Short to the Mariners
After a very disappointing Friday night loss, the COTR AVs were back on the court this afternoon as they played their last league game of the season. Both teams played incredible volleyball last night with the AVs forcing the Mariners to five sets. This afternon, both teams rotated their lineup knowing that they both have secured a playoff spot in the upcoming Provincial Championships in a few weeks.
"On Saturday we dedicated that match to four of our senior players and allowed them to play every set. I also made some changes in other positions to allow some players who have worked very hard all season to have them play against VIU." Commented coach Swanson. "I know VIU played different players as well so it was nice to see both teams playing different players."
Both teams played a hard match with the Mariners closing out the weekend series with 3-0 win. VIU took the season series with the Avs 4-0 and another successful weekend road sweep of the season.
COTR now sit idle next week and scoreboard watch to see who they will match up with the Quarter-finals of the Provincial Championships.
