CBC take down the Avs in three sets
After having last weekend off from league play, the COTR Avs were on their final road trip of the season which began Thursday night at Columbia Place in Abbotsford. The Provincial Championship host CBC Bearcats provided the Avs with their first of four matches this weekend. Heading into Friday nights' action, the Cats were sitting 6 points the Avs for he last playoff spot in the Conference. With less than a month to go, the Cats were hoping to close the gap between the two teams by end of the weekend.
In a very exciting and close match, the CBC hosts would defeat the Avs in three tight sets 25-22, 28-26, 26-24. The win gave the Cats two more points as they climbed the ladder in the standings.
CBC was led by Becky Garner (11 kills, 1 block, 1 ace, 10 digs), Kendal Venzke (10 kills, 2 blocks, 9 digs) and Jodi Enns (8 kills, 3 aces, 9 digs). COTR was led by Alexa Koshman (17 digs), Kennedy Koop (6 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces, 4 digs) and Kelsey Thompson (8 kills, 1 ace, 9 digs).
Both teams return to action Friday night at Columbia Place.
