Avs Sweep the Blues
The Avs woke up Saturday morning with another win in the win column of the league standings after taking the Blues to 5 sets last night. Both teams were once again on the court this afternoon in the second of a home and home match.
"It was very important for our team to actually challenge themselves to be even more focussed than on Friday as we anticipated Capilano to come out even more determined in the today's match." stated Avs coach Swanson. "Every match is extremely important for us as we continue to battle for positioning in the league standings. I was very proud of the ladies in their compete and composure level on Saturday and feel we are making progress in the aspects of the game we have been focussing on since the first semester."
"Kelsey Thompson led our team offensively with 10 kills in the match. We also received tremendous play from Taylor Forster and Kennedy Koop (our two middles) for their outstanding play along the net offensively and defensively. Our libero Alexa Koshman was also outstanding as usual in her ability to continually excel in serve receive and make defensive digs."
The Blues sit idle next weekend while the Avs stay at home and play host to the bisiting Douglas Royals.
