Chargers Take Strangle hold of Second Place in the Conference
Saturday afternoon the Blues and Chargers started the match the same way they finished Friday night's match, with a very tight opening set. Camosun would strike first as they won the set 26-24. The second and third sets also went to Camosun 25-22, 25-18 to win the match 3-0.
“Saturday’s match was a different game on our side of the court. Our numbers dropped off in attack efficiencies, but we were sound from the service line and on reception." commented Chargers head coach Chris Dahl. "We believe that these two areas of the game are of the greatest importance. If other areas of the game are off a little, being sound in these two parts of the game will provide opportunity to compete."
“Closing out the weekend with a sweep of Capilano coming off of a win in Douglas the previous week puts us in the win column for a series of consecutive matches. That’s another experience we look for during the regular season... can we put together at least three consecutive matches of higher level focus and effort." continued Dahl. "You can’t count on this, but you do your best to prepare for it as you’ll be required to do this at the PACWEST playoffs and ultimately, at the CCAA National Championships in March. We also continue to boost our home record. We’re 10-1 at home this season, and I believe we’re now 20-3 over the past two seasons at PISE"
The Blues return to action next weekend where they host the UFV Cascades at the Sportsplex whie the Chargers embark on their longest road trip of the season as they make their way to Cranbrook to play the COTR Avalanche.
