Chargers and Royals in Five Set Battle

Tonight’s women’s match was an epic five-setter with the first four sets going neck and neck. Each team would alternate set wins leading to the 5^th and final set.  The home team Chargers finally got the job done, taking that deciding set 15-8 to capture the match.  Fourth-year outside hitter Katie Fetting (Lethbridge, AB) had an outstanding night with 23 offensive points (19 kills, 1 block, 3 aces) and 14 digs. Newcomer Morgan Monkman (Smithers, BC) also scored big with 18 offensive points (17 kills, 1 block) and 9 digs.

Douglas’ fourth year Juliana Penner (Surrey, BC) had 21 offensive points (18 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace) and 6 digs of her own.  Other notable Royals were Autumn Davidson (Surrey, BC) with 12 offensive points (6 kills, 6 blocks) and 1 dig  and Georgia Hurry (Penticton, BC) with 9 offensive points (7 kills, 2 blocks). 

The Chargers improve to 4-1 and the Royals drops to 5-2.
