A first place showdown is brewing on Saturday when the Royals and Blues match-up at Lillooet Park. Both teams are undefeated and are coming off weekend sweeps. In their first meeting during Week 1 the teams tied at two. That afternoon there was four different goal scorers; Catrina Olstrom and Kayla Campbell scoring for the Blues while Alicia Skirzyk and Jessica Parks answered for the Royals.

The keepers Alexa Gazzola (Blues) and Elisha Machado (Royals) had to be sharp as both offences had their opportunities for the winner, but they stood tall.

In the latest national CCAA rankings the Royals checked in at #2 while the Blues are ranked at #7.

VIU Mariners (1-2) @ Langara Falcons (0-4) – Saturday October 2, 1:00pm – Swangard Stadium | WATCH HERE

For the second time this season the Mariners and Falcons will square off in PACWEST action. In their first meeting the Mariners blanked the Falcons 5-0 during Week 1. Jordan King scored twice in the match-up, both on penalty kicks. Since that victory the Mariners have lost two straight scoring twice. Saturday’s game will be the first on the road for the Mariners.

The Falcons meanwhile have struggled as of late and haven’t scored in three straight games. As a matter of fact their only goal this season came back in Week 1 when Cassidy Kwan found the back of the net. Their last three games have all been on the road.
