Stephanie White, Director of High Performance Sports, Recreation and Physical Literacy and the women’s soccer search committee are pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Lindo as Head Coach Women’s Soccer for the VIU Mariners.
Stephanie White commented “Kevin brings a wealth of international experience to the role and I am pleased to have him join our Mariners family. I believe Kevin has the tools and focus to continue to develop our student-athletes into a premiere team in the PACWEST. I know Kevin will lead our Mariner student-athletes and challenge them to excel in both the classroom and on the pitch.”
Lindo has been coaching for 17 years and has over 20 years of playing experience. After working as a Football Development Officer for the English Football Association, Kevin became a Professional Youth Development Coach for the Major League Soccer franchise New York Red Bulls. This became a stepping stone for him in the MLS as he is now the Island Head Coach for Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Kevin is a Learner Facilitator for BC Soccer and the National Coach Certification Program (NCCP). Holding both a Provincial B and Canada Soccer B Licence Kevin just completed the first stage of his UEFA B training.
Lindo commented ''It is an absolute privilege to be given this opportunity and I am very excited to get started! VIU has a great sporting tradition and history which is an honour to be part of.''
The PACWEST soccer schedule will open in early September.
