FRIDAY
VIU Mariners 63
Capilano Blues 53
Danielle Vanbergen exploded for 11 points and hit three of four from behind the three-point arch in the first quarter to set the tone as the Mariners stay undefeated. In all she would lead all scorers with 22 points, Amber Lease chipped in with 12 and Shayce Johnston grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Blues offence shot 33% from the field and Sherrie Errico led her club with 13 points.
Douglas Royals 68
Camosun Chargers 55
The Royals rode the hot hand of Rachel Beauchamp as she led all scorers with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Sydney Fraess was solid dropping in 13 and Jessica Castillo came off the bench to score 10 points, seven of which from the free throw line.
The Chargers offence struggled shooting 26% from the field and was 2-22 from downtown. Chloe Scaber came off the bench to lead her club with 18 points and Mia Roberts was the most productive starter with 14 points.
Okanagan Coyotes 77
CBC Bearcats 49
The Coyotes recorded their first ever PACWEST win riding a 33 point third quarter effort. Their defence then held the Bearcats to just three points in the final frame.
The offensive side for the Coyotes shot 45% led by both Deziree Day and Sapna Deo who each scored 18 points and combined for 10-three pointers. Nicole Hart came off the bench to score 11.
The Bearcats were led by their best weapon in Harvina Kaler who scored a game high 26 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
SATURDAY
Capilano Blues 79
Camosun Chargers 70
The defending PACWEST champion Blues continue to roll shooting 42.6% from the field led by the double-double of Alessia Brutto’s 19 points and 12 rebounds. MacKenzie Smith was also a force scoring 16 points while Reiko Ohama dropped in 12.
The Chargers on the other hand hung close to the Blues in this rematch of last season’s PACWEST gold medal game. They shot 39% from the field as Chloe Scaber scored 14 points as did Aiden Kilcommons off the bench.
Okanagan Coyotes 62
Langara Falcons 60
The Coyotes scored 18 points in the fourth quarter and shot 35% during the game to even their record at 2-2. Offensively Megan Admussen-Blair scored 15 to lead the way and Deziree Day came off the bench for 12 points. The queen of the boards was Ciara Bamford who grabbed 15 limiting the Falcon second chance opportunities.
The Falcons offence came up just short in a hard fought affair. Alexa Leynes led all scorers coming off the bench to drop 21 points. Breanne Homenuik was also solid scoring 15 points while Ainsliegh Mensah tallied 14.

The Mariners set the pace early exploding for 20 points in the first quarter. Despite the outpouring in the first the Mariners offence only shot 27% for the game led by Shayce Johnston and Kayla Gregory who each had 12 points.
Their defence was outstanding holding the Royals to shoot 24% from the field and held down the PACWEST leading scoring Rachel Beauchamp. The veteran was averaging a double-double however the Mariners shut her down to the tune of six points and 12 rebounds. Not one Royal hit double digits as Gisha Sangha led her club with eight points.
