The Capilano Blues shot 52% and are moving on at the CCAA national championship
The Capilano Blues kept their hopes for a CCAA medal alive with a 76-64 victory over the Medicine Hat Rattlers on Friday afternoon.
Their offence caught fire shooting 52% from the field and 50% from downtown. Carmelle M’Bikata was named player of the game with 16 points and 10 rebounds along with three blocks. Sherrie Errico proved to be a spark plug off the bench with 14 points in 28 minutes while Reiko Ohama dropped in 16 and Ashley dela Cruz Yip collected 11 assists and six points.
The Blues’ defence held the Rattlers to 28% shooting and the ACAC player of the year Kennedy Were to just six points.
Next up for the Blues is a possible doubleheader on Saturday. They will play in a bronze semi-final at 6:00am PST. If they win that game they will play in the CCAA bronze medal game at 2:00pm PST.
