The Blues, Kermodes and Chargers get a Saturday victory

The Blues used a 15-8 second quarter to stay out in front of the home side Mariners for their third win of the season. Both Sherrie Errico and Carmelle M’Bikata each had 20 points to lead the offence. Errico hit four-three pointers and grabbed six rebounds while M’Bikata snagged eight boards.
The Mariners were led by Emily Clarke and Victoria Brown who each scored 14 points. Clarke played just over 27 minutes while Brown logged 21 minutes.

The Chargers remain perfect following their seven point win. Kathryn Candell and Jasmine de Vries each scored 17 points. Candell shot four-three pointers while de Vries was 7-7 from the line and grabbed four rebounds. Isla Swanwick came off the bench for a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The defending champion Royals exploded for a 28 point fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough. Nanaya Miki came off the bench for a game high 25 points and Rachel Beauchamp scored 12 and grabbed nine rebounds.

Down five points at halftime the Kermodes battled back, won the second half and the game on Saturday night. Four of the five starters reached double-digits led by Eliska Vavrova’s 17 points and Kimmy Aburegeba’s 16. Emily Lachenmayer was solid with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Sarah Rozendal put the Bearcats on her back as she tallied a game high 36 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Anna Kamerman came off the bench and also scored a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
