Bryce Is Back At VIU
Tony Bryce is the new head coach for women’s basketball at VIU

The women’s basketball search committee and Stephanie white, Director of High Performance Sports, Recreation and Physical Literacy are pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Bryce as Head Coach Women’s Basketball for the VIU Mariners.
Stephanie White commented “I am excited to bring Tony back into the Mariners family. Tony was the former Mariners Men’s Basketball Coach and helped establish the team as a perennial favourite in the PACWEST. I know Tony’s energy and drive for excellence will be an asset to our program. As a High School teacher I know Tony understands the importance of academic success and will support both academic and athletic excellence in our student-athletes.”
Bryce is born and raised in Nanaimo and a former player for the VIU Mariner’s back in the early 1990’s. He’s been coaching basketball for over 20 years at virtually every level. A former coach of the VIU men’s basketball team from 2006-2012 where he compiled an impressive overall PACWEST league record of 87 wins and 15 losses (66 wins and 4 losses in his last four years). He is a three time PACWEST Coach of the Year and in 2012 was named the CCAA National Coach of the Year in men’s basketball.
The PACWEST season opens this fall.
