Men's Volleyball Summary - Saturday
The Royals, Mariners and Charges claim victory
Douglas Royals 3 – 25-21, 26-28, 25-21, 21-25, 15-11
COTR Avalanche 2
Saturday afternoon the Avalanche pushed the first place Royals to a fifth and deciding set but couldn’t pull off the upset win. The Royals offence was led by Reid Marriott’s 16 kills while Max Haronga tallied 13. Setter Jared Collin had an outstanding match with 44 assists.
The Avs offensive attack was led by Caleb Peters and his 19 kills and Gustavo Bertoli had 11. Setter Mark Armstrong finish with 41 assists.
Camosun Chargers 3 – 20-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-22
UFV Cascades 1
The Chargers get it done on the road playing shorthanded taking both weekend matches at UFV. Eduardo Bida led the way with 19 kills and 13 digs. Just 11 players dressed and eight of them ended the match with at least one kill.
For the Cascades just one player hit the double-digit mark with Shundeep Wander connected on 11 kills.
VIU Mariners 3 – 25-16, 25-16, 25-22
CBC Bearcats 0
The Mariners cruised to a sweep at CBC on Saturday with only eight players in the line-up. Braydon Brouwer finished with a team high 12 kills and Andre DeLacerda-Pires helped out with 10.
