In Saturday's afternoon contest, the Blues were hoping to end their streak at nine. However, with only a month to go before the Provincial Championships, the Chargers were not interested. Their focus was clearly on winning and reproducing the run they were on before Christmas.
The Blues performance was slightly better today but were still unable to get their first win of 2016. Camosun came out strong once again and handed the Blues yet another loss with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-15.
Camosun had many contributions this afternoon. Haakon Ostrem (11 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces, 8 digs), Gabriel Freund (8 kills, 5 blocks, 5 digs), Curtis Westra (5 kills, 2 blocks, 5 aces, 8 digs) and Alex Sadowski (9 kills, 2 blocks, 2 digs) led the Chargers. The Blues lone bright spot of the night came from Brendan Cairns (20 kills, 1 block, 3 aces).
Both teams return to action next weeked. The Chargers will face their toughest and longest road trip of the season as they travel to Cranbrook to face the COTR Avalanche. The Blues play host to the UFV Cascades.
