In a rematch of last night's Blues Avs contest, the Capilano squad was looking to reverse the scoreline after yesterday's defeat. Coming off yesterday's thrilling five set match, today's action proved to be a battle worth watching.
The Avs took the opening set 25-22 continuing the momentum they gained from last night. The Blues had other ideas as they took the 2nd set, also 25-22. The 3rd set might have been the turning point in the match as the Blues earned a 28-26 set score to take a 2-1 lead in the match. Capilano closed out the match winning the 4th set 25-21 and earning a weekend split with COTR.
COTR's Patrik Toze ended the night with 22 offensive points (20 kills, 2 blocks) and 2 aces; and Spencer Janzen had 16 offensive points (13 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace). The Blues had a few players themselves with solid numbers. Brendan Cairns had 23 offensive points (18 kills, 1 block, 4 aces) and 9 digs. Victor Zych had 20 offensive points (15 kills, 1 block, 4 aces) and 7 digs.
The Blues earned the split this weekend while the Avs move on to New West to take on the Royals for their 3rd and 4th matches of the weekend.
