Blues Contain Hurricanes
The Capilano Blues scored an important win to keep their medal hopes alive
The PACWEST champion Capilano Blues have advanced to the national bronze medal semi-final after a tough 119-100 victory over the ACAA champion Holland Hurricanes on Friday afternoon.
The Blues had a balanced attack and used free-throws down the stretch to put the game out of reach for their first win at the nationals. Overall, they were on fire shooting 59% led by the Player of the Game Tyrone Asenoguan who drained 28 points, had four rebounds and seven assists. CJ Campbell also had a big game with 18 points and 11 boards while David Featherston and Zach Klim were beasts down low combining for 32 points and eight rebounds.
Incredibly all but one player on the Blues’ roster hit the scoresheet and their bench outscored the Hurricanes 30-19.
On Saturday they will play in a bronze medal semi-final against either the Dawson Blues or St. Clair Saints at 2pm PST with the winner of that game playing for a national bronze on Sunday.
