PACWEST Men's Soccer Recap
Full of PACWEST excitement on this Thanksgiving weekend
SATURDAY
Douglas Royals 3
Langara Falcons 2
After a scoreless first half, the second half exploded with five goals and some exciting chances.
The Falcons opened the scoring when Logan Hooper found the back of the net in the 51st minute for his first of the season.
The goal must have woken up the Royals offence, who then scored three unanswered goals. Tomi Fagopngbe scored his second of the season in the 64th minute to tie the game. Then in the 80th minute Race Williams got his second of the year giving the Royals a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The icing on the cake came off the foot of Fagopngbe in the 85th minute, scoring his second of the game, what would turn out to be the game winner.
Despite being down a pair late in the game the Falcons continued to work and it paid off when Kyle Kemp found the back of the net in the 90th minute, but it was too little too late.
Capilano Blues 2
Quest Kermodes 0
A pair of first half goals held up for the Blues who finished the weekend with a sweep of the Kermodes.
PACWEST leading scorer Keith Jackson opened the scoring with his eighth of the season in the fourth minute. The goal would turn-out to be the game winner.
In the 13th minute the Blues added some insurance when Adrian Sahagun scored his second of the year.
With a two goal lead the Blues handed things over to keeper Hudson Nelles who made seven saves in his fourth shutout of the campaign.
