PACWEST Spotlight: Featherston and Downey
A pair of Capilano Blues talk about their first half injuries
The Capilano Blues men’s basketball team is preparing for the second semester of play which opens next weekend.
At the holiday break they find themselves sitting in fifth place with 10 points but are only four points out of third. They were bitten by the injury bug in the first half and are hoping to have two very important pieces from the roster in the line-up when the second semester begins.
Third year forward David Featherston Jr. has only appeared in four games this season after being a major factor in last year’s PACWEST championship run. He brings energy each second he touches the floor and was a very strong rebounder last season. Third year guard Jasha’jaun Downey is a transfer from Dartmouth in Nova Scotia but has yet to see the floor due to a nagging injury. He is an exciting talent that has the ability to take over a game.
Both injured players talked with Ryan Watters under the PACWEST Spotlight prior to the holiday break.
