Coach's Comment - Paul Eberhardt
He's coached basketball at all levels for the past 39 years and his has been on the Falcons sidelines for eight seasons
In eight seasons on the Langara Falcons bench, head coach Paul Eberhardt has an impressive record of 106-32 during the PACWEST regular season. He’s 14-11 in the playoffs.
Coach “Ebs” eats, breathes and lives basketball. He is not only the head coach of the Falcons, but is also on the board of directors for the BC High School Boys Basketball Association.
Over his amazing career he has coached at all levels of basketball including high school, the provincial team and even the National Team. He guided his RC Palmer Griffins to the ultimate title in BC High School Sports as they won the “AAA” BC Championships back in 2011. He then followed that up with back to back PACWEST titles in 2013 & 2014 and he led the Falcons to their first National title in 15 years beating Red Deer in the finals in 2014.
He is one of only a handful of coaches who has taken three different teams to the BC High School Championships (Magee, McNair, & RC Palmer). Prior to the Falcons, he also guided the Capilano Blues to a PACWEST championship and National Final Four in 2003. Ebs has been very involved in the BC Elite program having been the head coach on 10 occasions winning six Western Canadian gold medals and a National silver medal.
So without basketball in his daily routine how has he kept busy during the pandemic? He talks with Ryan Watters about that very topic.
