Falcons Face Trojans
The Langara Falcons play in the CCAA Placement Game on Saturday afternoon
After falling 98-92 on Friday afternoon the PACWEST host Langara Falcons will play in the CCAA placement game on Saturday afternoon against the SAIT Trojans.
Friday afternoon the Falcons outshot the Nomades de Montmorency in the bronze quarterfinal hitting 52% of their shots from the floor and 44% from behind the arch but it wasn’t enough. They dug themselves into a big hole in the second quarter getting outscored 31-15 and never really recovered.
Offensively Royce Sargeant dropped in 29 points and tallied eight rebounds. Drake Downer was named the Player of the Game and nailed seven-three pointers and finished with 28 points.
Their opponent on Saturday will be ACAC champion SAIT Trojans who haven’t recovered after giving up a big lead to the VIU Mariners in Thursday’s quarterfinal. They also lost on Friday 90-82 to the Humber Hawks.
The Falcons will need to keep an eye on John Smith and Ian Tevis of the Trojans who have had the hot hand. Both have scored 36 points in the first two games.
These two schools last met in 1995’s CCAA semi-final that the Falcons won 90-72.
Saturday afternoon the Falcons and Trojans will tip-off at 2:00pm.
