The Falcons, Mariners and Coyotes each win

The Falcons played an outstanding road game and shot 54% from the field to beat the defending champs. Offensively five players reached double-digits led by Moeiz Athaya who dropped in 25 points and Royce Sargeant who scored 20 and grabbed nine rebounds.
Meanwhile the Royals shot 45% from the field led by Courtney Anderson and Tyrone Asenoguan who each scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
They would struggle from behind the arch connecting on just 24% of their attempts.
Saturday night the Falcons (5-4) and Royals (5-4) will lock up again at 7:00pm.
Okanagan Coyotes 101
CBC Bearcats 88
In the first quarter the Coyotes set the pace outscoring the Bearcats 26-19 and never looked back shooting 51% on route to their third win of the season.
The offence was led by Curtis Wilson who tallied 19 points and snagged eight rebounds. Michael Gini came off the bench for 15 points including hitting five-three pointers and Matthew Lafontaine chipped in with 14 points.
The Bearcats showed fight in the fourth quarter with 21 points but came up short. Gabe Mannes had another massive game with 39 points and nine rebounds while hitting 13 of 14 from the free-throw line. Meanwhile Ykealo Araia finished with a double-double of 14 points and 10 boards.
Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm the Coyotes (3-4) and Bearcats (0-9) will meet again in the second half of the doubleheader.
VIU Mariners 113
Capilano Blues 87
A balanced attack was the key recipe for the Mariners on Friday night. Six players reached double-digits and the team shot 55% from the field. Tyus Barfoot scored a game high 33 points while Landon Radliff dropped in 21. Jerod Dorby was great in the paint with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Blues fell behind early and couldn’t claw their way out of a big hole shooting 43% from the field. Branden Bailey led the visitors with 26 points and Michael Kelly came off the bench and scored 16 points.
These two teams will meet again on Saturday at 3:00pm.
