Royals Stop Trojans
The Douglas Royals move to the national semis with a four point win over the SAIT Trojans
The PACWEST champion Douglas Royals are moving onto the national semi-final after an 80-76 over the ACAC champion SAIT Trojans in the men’s CCAA national quarterfinals.
Offensively they shot 39% from the field led by a familiar face. PACWEST championship MVP Grant Campbell dropped a game high 19 points, had seven assists and was named the player of the game. Noah DeRappard-Yuswack was a beast on the glass grabbing 15 rebounds and adding 16 points. Reese Morris had 17 points and 12 boards while Ethan McKean nailed four-three pointers.
The Royals will now face the defending champion and hosts Normades de Montmorency who beat the Ontario conference champion Humber Hawks 92-89. Three of their players accounted for 75 of their 92 points in their win and they connected on 10-three pointers.
Tip-off of the men’s semi-final is set for 5:30pm PST.
