PACWEST Soccer Athletes of the Week
They combined for seven goals last weekend
The PACWEST is proud to announce the soccer Athletes of the Week following Week 4 of the regular season.
Female Soccer Athlete of the Week
Chloe Gummer – VIU Mariners
Chloe had her best performance of 2018 this weekend against the Capilano Blues and Douglas Royals. Holding the ball up front, always being a threat in behind and scoring three big goals. On Saturday against the Blues she scored a pair of goals within a minute of each other in the first half. Her second goal was the eventual game winner. Then during Sunday’s game against the Royals she scored the only goal of the game during injury time in the 92nd minute making it back to back game winners.
Male Soccer Athlete of the Week
Yianni Siafakas – Douglas Royals
Siafakas scored four times on the weekend to help his Royals take all six points from their two games. On Saturday, he scored twice including the game winning goal in a 3-0 shutout of the Langara Falcons. Then on Sunday he scored two crucial goals in a hard fought 4-3 home victory over the VIU Mariners.
