The Langara College Falcons are excited to welcome Sean Shook to the team. He will join Langara on Tuesday, October 11 in the role of Manager, Athletics and Campus Recreation. The Falcons are thrilled to welcome Sean to the Manager’s role. He brings with him a wealth of experience that will only benefit our students, staff, and coaches.
Sean has 15 years of athletics administrative experience working in various roles with the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Most recently, Sean served as the Athletic Director at Quest University Canada.
Sean looks forward to getting started at Langara, saying, “I am very excited and honoured to serve as Langara College’s Manager of Athletics and Campus Recreation. I believe Langara is a special place where students can excel academically and make connections across the entire campus community. This is a prime opportunity to build and expand offerings on the great work that has been done before me.”
He also has over 20 years of professional basketball coaching experience starting at the high school level at Meridian High School and Blaine High School (both in Washington state) before moving north of the border to hold head and assistant coaching positions at Quest University Canada and Simon Fraser University (SFU). In his most recent role as Assistant Coach of Men’s Basketball at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Sean contributed to the team’s outstanding record of 72 wins and 21 losses over three seasons. A coaching highlight for Sean is UBC’s Canada West Championship win in 2020.
