The Camosun Chargers will play for PACWEST again with a four set win over Capilano
The four time defending champion Camosun Chargers are off to the PACWEST gold medal match after a four set win over the Capilano Blues on Friday.
The Chargers showed their balanced offence with six players recording at least one kill. Vitor Pereira led the charge with 10 kills, six digs and a block. Eduardo Bida and Lorenz Vogel each had six kills and Graham Basi came off the bench to tally five. Setter Kyle Bourdon was the Player of the Match with 30 assists and seven digs. Fifth year veteran Douglass Waterman had a match high eight blocks and was a wall at the net.
The Blues will play for bronze tomorrow afternoon. Jacob Hopkins was named Player of the Match with a match high 12 kills while Markiel Simpson collected 11. Setter Simon Frresen was solid with 36 assists.
The Chargers will now wait to see if they will play the Douglas Royals or VIU Mariners in tomorrow night’s gold medal match at 8:00pm MST. The Royals and Mariners will play in the other semi tonight. The Blues will play the loser tomorrow at 3:00pm MST.
