UFV Hosts Volleyball Championships
For the first in their school history the Cascades will host the volleyball championships
For the first time in their school history the UFV Cascades will host the PACWEST volleyball championships. They are set to take place February 22-24.
They entered the PACWEST Conference just prior to the 2004-2005 season and have won three medals and one CCAA National gold in 2013. Their first medal was a PACWEST bronze in 2009, silver in 2012, then double gold in 2013.
Athletic Director Steve Tuckwood says "UFV is looking forward to hosting this year's PACWEST Volleyball Championships as it is always a very competitive event, showcasing some of the best volleyball in the province. We know there are lots of volleyball fans in this area and we are hoping to see many of them as we host this event for the first time."
With just one weekend remaining in the regular season the Cascades women will finish third or fourth in the standing depending on the scores this coming weekend. Regardless they will most definitely play on Thursday February 22nd in one of two women’s quarterfinals.
The men on the other hand will finish either fourth or fifth depending on this weekend in their home and home with the CBC Bearcats. They will also play in a quarterfinal on Thursday February 22nd.
