Both the Blues and Avalanche are hoping to leave the Island will some hardware
The final day at the PACWEST championship tournament will open with the women’s bronze medal match as the third seeded Capilano Blues meet the fourth seeded COTR Avalanche at 1:00pm.
The veteran Blues suffered a heartbreaking loss on Friday to the Douglas College Royals in five sets. It was the second straight match the Blues played in a do-or-die fifth set after beating Camosun on Thursday.
The Avalanche’s hopes of hoisting their second straight PACWEST title were erased by a very focussed VIU Mariners group that swept them in three straight on Friday.
This playoff meeting will be the second straight after the Avalanche upset the Blues last season in the semi-finals.

Leader: #14 Adriel Goodman: She led the Avalanche with 235 kills, 32 service aces and 308 total offensive points. She will be relied upon heavily on the offensive side. Defensively she collected 41 blocks. She was named a PACWEST Second Team All-Star.
