The Cascades & Royals Play For Bronze
These two storied programs meet for the first time since the 2010 season
It’s not exactly the medal they were hoping to win, but the #2 UFV Cascades will face the #5 Douglas College Royals on Saturday afternoon in the men’s PACWEST bronze medal match.
On Friday the Cascades were upset by the third seeded Camosun Charges in four sets while the Royals were swept by the top seeded VIU Mariners.
During the regular season the Cascades won all four meetings with the Royals recording a pair of sweeps. That said they haven’t seen each other since January 7th.
The bronze medal match is usually the most difficult as both teams are coming off a heartbreaking loss, knowing they were one win away from qualifying for the CCAA Nationals.
