WVB Recap Semi 2 - VIU vs UFV

The VIU Mariners showed why they are the #1 seed in the Provincials after beating the #5 UFV Cascades in four sets and will play for gold.

It was the fourth time in PACWEST history these two matched up in the post season, with the Mariners now winning all four. They took care of the Cascades 21-25, 25-23, 25-17 and 25-10.

Defence was the name of the game for the Mariners collecting an incredible 21 blocks.  Tylar Turnbull was named the Player of the Match with 14 kills and five blocks.  Mikayla Wagner tallied six blocks and 13 kills while Megan Rosenlund tallied nine kills and one block.

The Mariners will now play for gold when they face the COTR Avalanche on Saturday at 6:00pm.

The Cascades will now play for Provincial bronze when they face the Capilano Blues on Saturday at 1:00pm.  Rachel Funk was named the Cascades Player of the Match.
