The Avalanche upset the Chargers in the quarterfinals
For the second straight season the COTR Avalanche collect an upset win the in the quarterfinal, beating the third seed Camosun Chargers in four sets.
It was a measure of payback for the Avalanche who were eliminated last season by the Chargers in the semi-final.
This quarterfinal was extremely exciting with its share of dramatic shots on both sides. The Avs winning 25-21, 23-25, 26-24 and 25-18.
Kelsey Thompson was solid with a team leading 17 kills and nine digs. Adriel Goodman was named the Player of the Match with eight kills while Alexa Koshman collected 10 digs.
The Avalanche will now meet the #2 seeded Capilano Blues in Friday's semi-final.
In a losing cause for the Camosun Chargers, Michelle Zygmunt was outstanding and was named the Player of the Match with a match high 17 kills, had a block and four aces. Kathryn Fetting chipped in with 11 kills, 2 blocks and a pair of aces.
