Chargers Claim Bronze
The Camosun Chargers win the PACWEST bronze medal
For the third time in four seasons the Camosun Chargers are the PACWEST bronze medalists after a 75-57 victory over the Langara Falcons.
The Chargers were solid from start to finish shooting 39.1% with four players in double-digits led by Calvin Somers coming off the bench to drain six-three pointers for 18 points. He was named the Player of the Game. Jaime Palamos Molins ran the point and distributed the ball evenly and tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds while Noah Helmen did the dirty work under the hoop collecting 10 rebounds and 12 points. In all, the Chargers snagged 14 offensive rebounds giving their shooters extra chances to find opportunities to score.
On the other side, the Falcons simply ran out of gas after a short turnaround from last night and found it difficult to get the ball inside. They shot 36% but were held to just 15 points in the second half. Chirrag Sidhu led his club with 17 points and was named the Player of the Game while Royce Sargeant collected 12 after an incredible 53 point performance last night.
This win by the Chargers is a small measure of revenue after losing the bronze last year in double overtime to the Falcons.
