Royals Upset Falcons
The Douglas Royals will play for PACWEST gold with an upset win over the Langara Falcons
The Douglas Royals complete the first upset of the PACWEST basketball championship with a 96-85 victory over the Langara Falcons in Friday’s semi-final.
A well balance offence led the Royals shooting 46% from the field. Reese Morris was dynamite collecting 19 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists while Noah DeRappard-Yuswack was equally impressive with 19 points and 10 rebounds and was named player of the game. Ethan McKean hit two timely three pointers and finished with 17 points going five for seven from downtown.
The Falcons drop their fifth straight PACWEST playoff game despite shooting 35% from the field. First team All-Star Ravi Basra led the charge with a game high 25 points, six rebounds and six assists and was named player of the game. Harry Liu got into foul trouble in his first playoff game but finished with 16 points.
The Royals will now play for PACWEST gold on Saturday at 8:00pm and will face the winner of the VIU Mariners-Camosun Chargers semi-final. The Falcons will play in their second straight bronze medal game at 3:00pm on Saturday.
