The Royals Move On
The Douglas Royals eliminated the Quest Kermodes with a 79-65 victory in the quarterfinals
The Douglas Royals held off the Quest Kermodes on Thursday afternoon 79-65 and have punched their ticket to PACWEST semi-final.
The Royals used 40% shooting and 47% from downtown to secure the victory. Grant Campbell led the way with 20 points, had eight rebounds and three assists. Reese Morris was also solid chipping in with 13 points while Kameron Johnson had 10 points and 12 assists, named the player of the game.
On the other side the Kermodes shot 36% from the field led by player of the game Payton Tirrell and his game high 26 points. Ben Steinbrueck dropped in 16 points, all of which were tough, challenged hoops. He also finished with eight assists.
With the loss the Kermodes varsity sports program comes to a close as they’ve been eliminated from the PACWEST championship.
The Royals move onto the semis to face the #2 Langara Falcons on Friday at 3:00pm.
