The Douglas College Royals used an up tempo offence to upset the second seeded Langara Falcons to win the PACWEST bronze medal 83-71.

Reese Morris was terrific in his third consecutive bronze medal game as a former member of the Capilano Blues.  Morris scored a game high 22 points, collected 16 rebounds, five assists and had a steal and was named player of the game.  Grant Campbell was also solid with 18 points while Malcolm Mensah in his final PACWEST game dropped 13 points and 10 had rebounds.  Sheldon Derton was also a major factor scoring 17 points.  As a team they shot 40.5% from the field and created 16 turnovers.

The Falcons who came into the PACWEST championship tournament as the second seed leave without a victory after shooting 38% from the field.  Gary Minhas and Grant Galbraith each scored 15 points and Ravi Basra scored 14.

The Royals win their second PACWEST bronze in three years after winning it in 2015.  A young Grant Campbell was named the player of the game in that contest.

The Royals who won 10 games during the 2016-2017 season, get two more here in the playoffs and leave with the bronze.
